Tutte le forme della pasta...

All the shapes of pasta… Which regions do they come from and how are they made?

In this 2.5 hour Italian WALKshop, we will ‘walk’ from Italy’s north to south through its regional pasta specialities. With Monica from Su Misura Italy as our guide, we will explore the different types of pasta from around Italy. Before our eyes, professional pasta maker Annapaola D’Alessio will demonstrate how a number of typical pasta shapes are made by hand while we use our Italian to describe the shapes, the ingredients, the method and the stories behind the pasta.

This workshop is intended to be a fun and active language learning experience in a social context, where the pasta and how it is made serve as prompts to talk about and describe different things in Italian that you might not usually cover in your regular learning space. You will be provided with some printed materials on useful vocabulary and phrases for the session and the hosts will be there to support you along the way.

This small group session is best suited to those with intermediate to advanced-level Italian. (However, if you are interested in Italian cuisine, we would encourage you to come along even if you would consider yourself still beginner/early-intermediate in Italian!)
